​In addition to the critical business of aviation, flight training, and search & rescue there is a social side to the airport.

Families with young children frequent the airport on weekends to watch the airplanes, the public is free to walk around the airport to talk to pilots, student pilots, flight instructors, mechanics and other folks who are interested in aviation.

Most Saturdays, a group gathers in the public terminal building for coffee and to share aviation stories.

​We are extremely proud of Cooking Lake Airport's reputation as a casual and welcoming place for those with an interest in aviation.
